EFSA rejects health claims for fruits and vegetables

End of June and end of July the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published further scientific opinions on health claims applications including one on fruits and vegetables. This opinion was waited for with great anticipation as the methodology for the assessment of health claims is difficult to apply to fruits and vegetables. more


ENA co-authored scientific paper

In our e-newsletter 08/2010 we reported on the first scientific symposium of the Council for Responsible Nutrition International (CRN-I) on the topic „Scientific Issues Related to Codex Goals“.

ENA contributes to the discussion on Health Claims

Currently the issue of the scientific substantiation of so-called health claims for foods is one of the hot topics around nutraceuticals in Europe. The ENA as specialist organisation devoted to promoting scientific discussion on nutraceuticals feels responsible to contribute to this important issue. For quite a while ENA representatives observe all activities in this regard, especially activities of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). more


ENA launches continued education "Certified Sport Nutrition Advisor"

The European Nutraceutical Association is pushing an initiative which provides opportunity to specialize in sport nutrition. Health experts who want to focus on this issue can now complete a continued education: the „ENA-certified Sport Nutrition Advisor“. more


Nutraceuticals and Women’s Health

Nutraceuticals and women's health was the focus of interest at this year's seventh international Annual Conference of the European Nutraceutical Association (ENA). ENA President, Dr Peter Prock, was able to welcome over 200 experts from 13 European countries, several African countries, and from the US to the event in Munich in March.  more
